Arr, me hearties!

I discover today that there is a ... hmm ... new? website out there that is claiming to be a "social networking site for gun-owners" which is called -- IIRC -- "Smoke and Thunder."

Sounds like a mildly interesting idea, until I learn that this same web-site is creating profiles of famous gun-bloggers and hanging onto said profiles apparently hoping that the afore-mentioned famous gunbloggers will come over and claim the already-created profiles.

Probably for some nominal fee.

To my mind, that's more than a bit sleazy, but it seems to be the price of living in the Age of the Common Man.

Then I learn that the same site is busy trolling the comments of popular gun blogs, insulting particular gun-bloggers and may be helping itself to content that belongs to popular gun-bloggers.

Huh.

This goes beyond sleazy and right up into full-on dacoit-hood.

To the best of my knowledge I have not ever really been a full-on "gun-blogger" and I tend to believe that my recent cycle of low activity has caused me to fall off of the radar in the Blogosphere, but in case it hasn't allow me be perfectly clear:

1) I will not be joining this site "Smoke and Thunder", so if you see my name there, it isn't me.

2) Nor do I give the site "Smoke and Thunder" any permission what-so-ever to use anything written by me on this site, or by me on any Internet forum or medium, beyond the minimum amount permissible under the "Fair Use Doctrine".

3) Furthermore, I deny the site "Smoke and Thunder" permission to use any of my intellectual property, wholly or in part, for financial gain.

Period.

In closing, I should like to offer the observation that if one is about to make a complete and total ass of oneself on the Internet, it might be considered prudent not to choose a
nom de cyber that rhymes with "Blunder", "Chunder", "Dunder", or "Plunder".

Take that advice as one will. Or not.

Who is/are the people behind that site?
Maybe their IRL contact info should be published so that those who have been "profiled" could get in touch with them.

I just borrowed your 3 little bullet points there, hope you don't mind.

Hmmm. A site apparently put together for the specific purpose of annoying the smart and well armed.

Can you say "Masochist"?

This ain't gonna be pretty.

Actually myself [I'm not a gun blogger but I follow a couple. Wolf plays in the politics arena by applying blunt force trauma. *sniff* ahh the smell of freshly spilled blood in the morning!] and several other of the gun bloggers and followers have concluded that "choke and blunder" is probably run by an Anti 2nd amendment/ Anti Gun wiener. Which one we don't know. Anyone with an IT background and some time wanna do a little digging and see what you can find on Sir Infantile Asshat of Choke and Blunder row?

In the interests of not being as much a dick as the person behind Choke and Chunder, I, too, would like to borrow your three bullet points. I hit the first one, but neglected the second two...

I really am at something of a loss what his intentions and purpose were, assuming he has been honest with us thus far. I am starting to wonder if he has not been honest, however, and if this is not all some kind of false-flag operation by "gun control" extremists...

While A. Jackson had the edge on the phrase, I always like Col. Cooper's definition of the "Age of the Common Man".

And yeah, the S&T guy's a shlep.

The owner of that site sort of reminds me of a rabid chihuahua on the other side of a fence, barking and snarling at everyone who goes by, as long as no one opens the gate.

Gonna borrow the bullet points, I expect I'm to small stuff for them to care, but still.

I was employed by the Smoke and Thunder fuck to desogn his fucking site. I met him in Boston.
His name is Michael. He could be living in NH though.

The cocksucker ran out on 800 Dollars that he owed me, after I worked my ass for 10 days. I cannot fucking find him now.

He is a fucking asshole. I am so angry.

Gosh...and he's a deadbeat, too? What a surprise...

Ah...things become clearer now.

I saw Suck & Stumble commenting over at Old NFO's place, and was wondering why he was coming across as such a d_ck.

I'm getting some popcorn for this one.

I coppied your post to several firearms forums which I frequent, including the two which I help moderate. I have NOT looked at the site, as I don't care to add to his visit. count.

I left this one at Miguel's place and Reposting here. Doing this Anon so he does not identify who I am. LawDog knows me however as do many other Bloggers, Oleg, Jay G, AD, Farm Girl, Sabra, MattG and quite a few more.

Not leaving the link to my blog because I don’t wish for this obviously mentally incapacitated individual to know it and try to add me to his so called “social” web page. The absolute gall of him however strikes me that he is in severe need of a mental evaluation. His actions and posts leads me to believe in a professional observation that he is severely unbalanced and possibly dangerous to himself and others. If facts regarding him as posted on other sites are true, he needs a minimum of a 72 hour hold and evaluation, for his own safety and the safety of others. I have no doubt that after such an evaluation he would be involuntarily committed for treatment for a minimum of 90 days. If he is already under a Doctors care for his obvious mental instability, his Doctor needs to be made aware of his actions and blood work as to the efficacy of his current medications needs to be performed. I find his actions and posts to be extremely disturbing, as such since he has an obvious mental deficiency, the fact that he is attempting to run a “Gun” site has alarms bells ringing in my head, and I believe the local authorities of wherever he lives need to be notified as he may be attempting to use his “Site” as an attempt to obtain firearms as a restricted person. We do not need another Virginia Tech or Tuscon.
