The last couple of days that I've posted, I've noticed that something's been a wee bit odd.
The LawDog Files has used the heavy blue italic font from Day One. I might even go so far as to opine that the blue italic font is a signature.
How-some-ever, the lat couple of times when I post, the font comes up heavy and italic, but in a most unbecoming shade of charcoal grey. This has forced me to go back to an old post, click over to the HTML editor and search through the confusing HTML stuff until I found the code for the proper shade of blue.
A large amount of trial and error there, I'm here to tell you. More error than trial, I fear.
Today, when I logged-on, I was greeted with: "Try The Updated Blogger Interface!"
Seems that Blogger has decided -- yet again -- to dink around with how we post stuff.
*sigh*
Mindful of the recent drubbing I have taken over the whole smart-phone issue, I decided that while I would not whole-heartedly Embrace Progress, that I should perhaps give it a bit of a go.
Yeah. It sucks.
This shade of blue isn't an option, and when you choose the shade of Disney Blue that Blogger now offers, instead of putting the letters directly on the page (so to speak), it embeds the blue letters in a faint peach-coloured stripe.
Ah,well, sayeth I, I'll just cut an paste the HTML code from an old post.

Apparently when you input "rgb(0, 0, 153)" into the new interface, it changes it to "color: #000099" -- and it isn't the same colour.
Snarl.
Why? Why dink around with something that was working? What is this perverse need that people have to take something that was working perfectly well, and "fix" it?

Mmm... 0, 0, 153 does translate to 0x000099 exactly. It should be the same color.
Maybe 'they' use to work for the government.
I agree, LD. When I was in the computer business, I would not let my clients get a program or computer device "serial number 1." I always waited for a couple of revisions, updates and bug fixes to roll out before I would even test it. - Pops
Even if Google weren't eeevil, you know how engineers love to CHANGE things.
I think in the IT world they call it job security. . .

I had tried the new interface ages ago, hated it within five minutes and switched back.
You can go into the template designer and change the font color default to any color you would like.
The cable company kept doing the same thing with my DVR, to the point that I finally got rid of my cable entirely. When every "fix" makes it more frustrating to use, it quickly seems pointless to pay for something that just adds to the stress in your life.
I'm afraid it's my fault. I made the awful mistake of telling a co-worker my secret philosophy: "I'm tired of fixing other people's bugs. I want to write bugs of my own!" It spread like wildfire after that, and now every code monkey is off writing his own bugs.
And you didn't mention the new captcha scripts that are universally unreadable. I have to click "new" several times and then guess. I'm running about 50% failure with the captcha.
Good thing it looks the same, otherwise we might think someone's fraudulatin' teh Lawdog!

Odd, they're fixing to screw EVERYBODY over on FB soon. If you have FB you know what I'm talking about when I say "timeline oh timeline, oh how I HATE thee." Got a message sitting at the top of the page I co admin for that said we're ALL gonna get it come the 30th of this month. Of fantabulous joy.

Still looks blue italic here and in Google Reader. Whatever you did must have worked.
Young "software engineers" with time on their hands and a need to justify their paycheques.
Keeps 'em "gainfully employed"-the modern version of digging a hole so they can fill it in again.
Be grateful-it also keeps them off welfare.
I wonder if the new captcha is designed to lower or eliminate the preview function? It's such a hassle to use, and you have to re-do it after preview to post, that I no longer use the preview function.
Just to say all seems the same here in Italy, on Firefox. Only change is the Comment view; but that's all over the Blogger scene, and is probably an improvement.
And yes, the new Captcha is awful.
It was done by someone who wants to make his or her mark, who worships the new because it is new, and lilely voted Democrat the last couple of times he or she voted, which were the first couple of times he or she was allowed to vote. We are fortunate that the same does not happen with the basic controls of cars, or we'd now have one car company that built cars you steer with your feet and the accelerator was your left hand, the brake your right, and the clutch was a lever on the driver's door, while another used voice controls, and another used motorcycle controls.
And I AM NOT A LUDDITE!! I like things that work and I believe that if it is not important to change it is important not to change.
